About MABD
Marina Badillo-Diaz completed her Doctorate in Social Work at New York University’s Silver School of Social Work in 2021. She graduated with a Master’s of Science in Social Work in 2011 from Columbia University’s School of Social Work and obtained her social work clinical licensure from New York State in February 2015. She is currently the founder of MABD Consulting and is an adjunct professor teaching courses on human services, counseling & interviewing, leadership & management.
She is also a youth development director and a clinical supervisor at an alternative charter high school. Prior to this position, she was a social worker for grades K through 8 at a charter middle and elementary school.

She also acquired clinical social work experience in community mental health agency for 8 years and now has a small private practice working with adolescents, adults, and couples. She has expertise in providing treatment utilizing a strengths-based perspective incorporating family systems, skills training, CBT/DBT, and empowerment practices. She also obtained a Post Graduate Clinical Supervisory Certification from Smith College for Social Work in 2017 and has over 8 years providing clinical supervision for social work interns and social workers working towards their clinical licensure. Her interests and specialties include: school social work supervision, clinical licensure supervision, school social work ethics, school organization structure and leadership, social-emotional learning & programming, social work career coaching, and diversity, equity, and inclusion transformation for organizations.
